Max 2011 - flattening Composite maps

Ok, is it possible to extract flattened composite map without rendering to texture, ie. is it stored anywhere just before being rendered in a tmp directory?
It is kinda possible when exporting the whole scene to OBJ, all composite maps are flattened and saved as single image files, but uniform size is restricted, thus making this technique useless, at least for me.
Any simple/fast technique would be great (if somehow possible).
