got inspired a bit, crawled the web and original film for references, and got to here.
From oldest to newest, descending.
(3dmax patch)
(sculptris, oh how i love it)
(3dmax render of the same)
sculptris model is 144'166 triangles, i could probably easily double that, but this is ony my my first more serious models so i want to keep the mesh as clean as possible.
1997 Starship troopers film reference, one of the better ones i could find, and as far as i can tell from watching the bugs in the film, i'd say that is the actual model. i have taken some liberties, yes, but i'm tempted to 'correct' them according to these. y/n? The actual design of the bug varies greatly between each film, series, games, and physical model, yet i'm tempted to stay as loyal to the original as possible.

The front ones are almost the good size. Except the extremity. You made it too short, normally they are like ⅔ longer.
The rear ones are totally about 3 or even 4 times bigger.
Same thing for the beak, I re-watched the movies about a month ago and, for me, the beak is something like as long as the "head".
But that's an awesome work, even with the dimension problem.
this shot from the movie do show the arms being quite a bit smaller- but the relationship between the beak- rear head, and arms still need some tweaking.
I do love me some Starship Troopers though.
