Trying to get a new place to rent when you live a 4 hour train journey away is a b*tch.
I'm joining a studio in Guildford in a couple of weeks, and bespite my best efforts, I can't find a place to rent.
I'm after a studio flat for about £600-650pcm, and every one that pops up on any website seems to get snapped up before I even have a chance to ring. I know the properties are there, I'm obviously just too goddam slow, or they're getting snapped up by local folk, before making it online.
I know a lot of companies are based in Guildford, and if there are any Guildfordites lurking around here that want to save me from being homeless, could you let me know of any places you know are going, or share knowledge of how you found yourselves places (if you relocated).
Any help I get would be much much much appreciated at this stage. Cheers all!

Can't help you though
When I first moved to London, I had to stay in a hostel for a couple of weeks until I found somewhere that wasn't a Dickensian hovel, so maybe bear this in mind if you continue to struggle to find somewhere in time.

They're allowing up to £1000 reimbursement for relocation costs, so I'm guessing that'll cover some nights in a hostel on top of train fare/van hire.
I'm gonna go down there tomorrow, hit the streets, and see whats about. The local papers/agents are gonna get beasted.
I just have a feeling if I go with a bigger estate agent, they'll lock me into a 12+ month contract.
Anyways, I think a houseshares gonna be the most sensible option, if I find one that's suitable enough.
And I'm a dude, but I can tuck my junk between my legs.
<_<
