hey polycount i thpught that since alot of people are including figure drawing and stuff in their sketchbooks polycount could have 1 thread you could go to where others have posted anatomy ref, books, tools of the trade, and etc.:)
Marlforx. Is possible for you to post some tutorials related to creating the ref images? Just the face. I have been searching this for a while and the tutorials that I do on daily basis does not teach you the face ref. (There was only one solid how to create face ref under the photoshop catagory but that was just it.)
I dont know how to explain this but. When you start modeling something you have the front ref image, side ref image and possible top ref image.
So far I found one legit tutorial that teaches the basic structure sketch that makes it easier to draw the front and the side of the face only. But that was just it. In the next tutorial the person directly jumped in to the concept art.
So I was wondering if you any ref drawings tutorial that teach the entire course rather than just one lesson of one phase. Not the ones you have stated so far.
The ones you have stated are just leemo drawings or front props of human. Good for the traditional and digital concept artists or figure drawers.
If you still dont understand what I mean, than leave it..I'll keep searching on google or youtube.
You accrue a traditional understanding of human anatomy, you become a good artist, and the rest will come later.
I couldn't agree more. The more you understand about human anatomy, especially from traditional 2D teachers the less need you will have for super accurate image planes. Becoming a better artist doesn't enable you to make better planes and by doing so make better models. It enables you to leave the training wheels behind...
