I got contacted for my first freelance gig, for a pretty big company to boot.

My terms were accepted, and a contract was sent back to me to look over, sign, and fax back.

Really stoked!

People work their asses off to get jobs doing what we do. And the 3 pages of asinine and pointless congrats are a way of people saying we know how fucking hard it can be to get a job, and we RESPECT that.

I think we have different definitions of 'asshole' You did make me tear up though. I think we may actually do the most important and noble job in the world. Thank you odor...somehow, I had never stopped to think about it.

Thanks everyone, it means a lot. Here I've been doing this stuff as a hobby for the last couple of years, and never even thought that what I had been doing could develop into a possible career path.

Now, out of the blue, without even contacting anyone - I get an email about a freelance gig that is right up my alley out of the blue, because someone wants to pay me for something I've done for fun. Not only that, but something I've taught myself how to do. They could've picked others who are more established in the industry, but they picked me.
