Portfolio hosts and limited viewability

So i'm just about to launch my new portfolio site and after sending around the first draft to a few friends at their places of work i realized that some couldn't access it because i'm hosted a wordpress.com and blogs are blocked at work even though i've got a proper .com domain for redirecting. So i'm wondering if this could be a major roadblock for potential employers wanting to see my work. should i scrap wordpress and get my own space?

yes, just get your own website and install wordpress should be an easy transition. I have issues seeing alot of blogger.com images as well.

I have heard about some of the insecurities of the word press installation. Maybe be patched since then. Anyhow, if your going to use word press. Look here for some security tips.
