3ds max 2009 autoback fail.

Im having some strange saving and backup problems with max 2009. I have a max file that has about a 5% chance of crashing max every time I save, which is strange but ok because max will backup the file each time I save so I can go back to the last saved version. But while figuring out that it did backup on save i found out that my autobackup doesnt really work.
I have it set to backup every 5 mins with 40 backups, but so far today it has only backed up 3 times between 1:35 and 1:45 and I have had max open all day... Any idea why autoback would be doing this?

The crash on save thing happened yesterday too.
I was running low on h.d space and while the files were smaller than what I had left, they had a 50/50 chance or so of crashing. I deleted a bunch of shit and the probelm was gone.
maybe that helps.... check your hard drive space...?

Also, try deleting a small amount of your porn, and it should help.
It's great for finding out what the hell is stealing all your drive space.
