he's gonna be a really stupid mutant or troll with a magic book. he can't read the spells so he just hits people with the book. luckily the book has a protection spell on it so it does lots of damage and it sometimes casts magic on its own.
he doesn't understand magic but he collects things he thinks are magical so he has 4 lucky rabbits feet (also the unlucky rabbit), horseshoes etc,etc. he's seen other magicians and he tries to imitate them, sort of like someone in a cargo cult.
