United Front Games is seeking a Senior Technical Character Artist.
The Technical Artist's responsibility is to design and implement artist friendly workflows. A combination of strong creative aesthetic and technical knowledge are pre-requisite regardless of background. Technical Artists should be an expert in at least one of these areas - animation, visual effects, post-processing, environments/lighting, or model/texture pipeline.

Responsibilities:
-Design, improve and implement artist workflows
-Document and teach needed art production techniques
-Champion simple workflows - Mentor others

Animation:
-Works with Design and Lead Animator to design and implement the needed animation system
-Designs the animation tree
-Teaches other animators how to create motion trees
-Constantly revaluates the animation pipeline for improvement
Problem solves all technical issues involving animation
-Advanced rigging knowledge
-Solid understanding of Max Script

Shader:
-Needs to have a strong artistic eye regardless of background
-Strong understanding of post processing and lens effects
-Ability to prototype real-time shading and post-processing techniques in Render Monkey or equivalent software
-Strong understanding of DX9, DX10, and Shader Model 3 - HLSL, GLSL, or CG programming

Requirements:
-Thorough knowledge and proficiency using 3D modeling packages, including but not limited to 3D Studio Max
-Communicate effectively with both artists and programmers
-Minimum of 2-3 years of post-secondary training, preferably a Degree or BA in computer science, Fine or Commercial Graphic Arts or equivalent professional experience
-Thorough knowledge and efficiency using 2D art creation/manipulation packages, including but not limited to Photoshop, Aftereffects, etc.

Art:
-Works with Art Director to design and implement needed art production systems
-Maintains and imrpoves art production pipelines
-Solid knowledge of model, texture and lighting systems
-Some proven experience with world building solutions
-Constantly revaluates the art pipeline for improvement
-Scripting skills an asset

Senior:
-5+ years videogame or equivalent experience
-2+ published titles

Hey polycount. These are some hefty requirements that would be great to fill but let me break it down for you a little more. What we need is a technical character artist who's proficient or at minimum willing to learn Max Script. This person will also be doing some rigging and a minimum amount of shader work.
