Apparently it was originally based on a manga set in Vietnam with cats vs rabbits called Apocalypse Meow. I have no idea why it's called Cat Shit One.
They call it "CatShitOne." But for the life of me, I couldn't see a single feline in that trailer. Are they just making a reference to a cat's sandbox? Freakishly random. I approve.
the cats were the vietnamese in the original manga... This is apparently a modern adaptation/continuation of the characters created for the original manga in the late 90s. Available in the US as apocolypse meow.

I believe only the translated version was called Apocalypse Meow to reference the American movie. The original was called Cat Shit One. I'd assume, if this were to be released outside of Japan, they'd rename it just like they renamed the work it was based on.

That looks dare I say it awesome. I like how they seem to play it totally straight no in jokes or any ha ha its funny cause its animals, just the animals acting like people, slaughtering one another like people.
