For a few days now I've been working on a head bust of The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3. I would really appreciate criticism both for my anatomy and my rendering of the character. This is in some ways my first character head bust.
My first suggestion is to get a better reference if possible (front side 3/4) You should match her face shape closer to reference image (yellow image) she have square face with more feminine face features , neck straight down close to jaw corner After you have a proper face shapes move to side view and check your profile and face features placement, in side view she again have lot of male characteristics like strong jaw and protruding brow small lips Might be easier to start from scratch and get your likeness early on (like in the attached example)
You are welcome , if I may add a few more things for you to check facial feature relations : - green : lateral corners of the eyes to mid bottom lower lip , check line relation (equilateral, isosceles) -bluegreen(teal) lateral corners of the eyes to widest point of the wings ,end of eyebrows should be on or close to this line -orange lateral corners of the eyes to lateral corners of the mouth - you have up side down trapezoid -purple vertical relation between mouth , nose wing and eye
If your sculpt have similar relations you will have recognizable likeness
nice! I'm a big fan of this character and going to try to remake her aswell. Can i steal that reference sheet please? Also can't wait to see how your bust turns out.
I made a thread for the finished piece but I figured I might as well give closure to this one here as well. Here's the final render! When I get her 3d printed, I'll toss it in the finished thread.

I need to adjust the lips and chin more before moving on.
If anyone has any feedback on her lips, I'd love your thoughts. Lips are a struggle.
Should be about a week till I'm done. I'm going to leave it as a highpoly sculpt.
In fact, here are a few additional images I've been using apart from the reference sheet.
@N_GONE This may help you as well!
Thanks for the help everyone!
