[WIP] The Phantom of the Opera - The red death

Hey guys! I've recently started this project on a bit of a whim. Was obsessed with Phantom of The Opera when I was younger and this costume is just gorgeous!

I started a new basemesh the other day and I've just been blocking in clothing today using marvelous designer as a base. Progress should (in theory) be a lot slower than usual since I'm working full time but I think it'll be a nice one to keep chipping away at and getting into all those details!

Worked a little more on this today, just trying to get some base forms in for the folds etc. The fabric is this thick sorta velvety thing that I hope I'm gonna be able to get accross in the sculpt/textures cause it's sooo nice and different.

Started refining details now and got a block in for the sword. Not 100% sure how I'm going to approach the golden stitching details so advice on that is very welcome!

This is looking very nice. I like the front of the boots but not the back of the boots the wrinkles just dont feel as realistic. The gold sitching is going to be a pain because if you want it to look exactly like the photo you have to make them from scratch in a photo editing program. Those should be part of the texture/material though. Good luck!

@polygons Good call on the boots! I'd worked on the front and then just abandoned the back so they should be better now!

Made a start on getting the stitches in, definitely very blobby but I want to go around and clean them up once I've got all the shapes in. It'll be tedious but I think it'll look really nice once its done

Just finished the first pass on the stitching, I'll be moving into the final details soon so crit is really appreciated! I think I'll start modelling the sword so I can come back to him with fresh eyes

Wrapping up on the highpoly! Got the sword in the works now and I think I'll re-do the cloak towards the end once I've posed him and modeled some stairs for it to drape over! Let me know if you have any crits though!
