My boys love watching these movies. So for fun I've been working through adapting the main characters to 3D. Stil working on Cera and Petrie. Zbrush, 3ds Max and V-Ray.
Amazing work! You've really done a great job capturing the likeness of the characters. If your kids are into toys you should definitely look into printing these up for them.
For the Sharptooth, the eyes are a bit too large and round. I also think the jaw could be a bit more square. It's hard for me to find decent pictures of this but I think these concepts show it a bit better:
Almost looks quite boxy, whereas yours looks more rounded in comparison. I also think the muzzle could be made a bit longer and the lower jaw could be thickened up a bit. His jaw is pretty big so I think it would be good to exaggerate it a bit more (though making the eye smaller will probably help make the jaw seem bigger anyway).
Hard to tell without a side-view but I think the tail might also be a bit on the short side, in some of the images from the cartoon his tail looks pretty long.
aryarie I agree. I was trying to find a balance from all of the "off model" versions there are out there. I reworked the eye but I'll try to tighten a few other thing up when I add it back in. Thanks for your comments!
these are amazing! My only crit would be that ducky? (the little green one) and the t rex have really repetitive noise patterns. Specially when it comes to the body. IMO i would try to add some variation in there so you can break up the body noise. But thts just me nit picking stuff. Overall great body of work!
Thanks for your comments! I took a break from them. I need to go back through and fine tune a few things. I definitely want to take a second pass at Ducky.
These are phenomenal! Totally captures everything about the characters so well. The nostalgia feels and I was 100% sure these were photos of plastic toys, well done!
Best bet would be a resin printer. Are you going to sell these models?, as would love to print them! My, now 20yr old, son used to be mad on these cartoons...would be a great birthday gift! I have both FDM and resin printers-so let me know if you want some prototypes printing....
