Maya modeling likness is it possible and if yes what tips or tutorials you reccomend?

For example if u want to model something and u have only front view and some ewird angle side view
ANy good tutorials you can reccomend?

    grab a basehead with around 40k poly and sculpt them... with the mudbox sculpt brushes in maya... thats also the work you have todo for all blendshapes if you are goin to animate the face...

    likeness is hard to learn... you need to model hundreds of heads to master it...

    If you mean likeness in terms of humanoids then depending on the requirements I'd search the web for film material, pause the film, put it under zbrish and make the app transparent and use that to sculpt over. If you just have a still there is an app that you can use to construct a face using presets and sliders ( don't remember what it is called ). Reconstruct a 3d version that matches your reference as closely as possible and use that as reference to sculpt from. The best way is to follow oglu's advice. Once you have done thousands of studies you should know your stuff and be able to make something reasonable with minimum reference.

    If you mean objects then we do that all the time. If you have to duplicate a truck for instance then you should already be able to see around corners and come up with a reasonable replication. For extra reference seek out similar trucks on the web to reinforce your reference.
