Screen-sharing Resolution?

For screen-sharing, is there a way to output at a different (smaller) resolution than your viewing resolution?  (Also, is it possible to do this with Google Hangouts?

My monitor is 52" and as a resolution of 3840 x 2160. When I screen-share with google-hangouts: with my current resolution, my screen will not be readable for those with a smaller monitor/ lower resolution. So unless I zoom in with my browser (Chrome) to an extreme level (200%-300% - where it's like trying to read text after putting your face right up against your monitor), my screen will look very zoomed out and illegible to others.

Is there a way around this without having to adjust my screen resolution or having to zoom in like 200%-300% in Google Chrome (ie. the browser)?

Thank you.
