Learning diary - Maya & Zbrush (feedback wanted)

I've started learning 3d modeling in Maya and I wanted to show you my works (I had my BF help with all of them for now). I'm hoping for some feedback!
I'm just doing high polys for now, after some finished models I'll try to make low polys and textures. 
My biggest problem is smoothing edges, and topology is giving me a bad time.

    Ok, so I sculpted a little more in Zbrush. Just a cat head, I think I would like to  make it little cartoony. Something is off with profile, but I focused on a "front" of its face.

    I have a hard time deciding what I want to do. In the begining I wanted to do enviroments, but now I just don't know. I like "normal" modeling until it comes to smoothing edges... subdiv makes me cry (well, almost).
