Most recent Progress Shot:A new scene I am working on in UE4. Consolidating my tileable workflow , procedural texturing, and the things I learned from my last project.
Below is a image I Photoshopped really quickly as inspiration for some of the key components of the scene and some of the texturing.
I am going for an overcast mood, with a majority of the light being hidden by the trees. I want the bounce light from the trees to be strong.
The main goals of the scene will be to :
Create a modular kit of the scene with a couple of variations for each piece.
Use only Procedural textures and tileables= NO UNIQUE TEXTURES (Other than Foliage atlas)
No maps over 2k.
Improve realism of my lighting.
My deadline will be in 1 week to finish and start doing my final lighting bake.

Made a quick asset lighting scene to bring all my assets through.
Have a large list of forest assets to create.
I think this is pretty close to the type of lighting I am going to go for.
Much more to make, and much more to bring in still.

To do: Fallen Logs , Largest trees, A couple of terrain pieces. Want to be done by tomorrow so I can start set dressing.
Sculpt of one of the logs.
All the main assets are done. There are some smaller things I will work on after I set dress such as vines, and some decals and smaller pieces. Going to fine tune my master materials then move on to set dressing.
That being said, versus the concept it's rather barren and doesn't have nearly the same dark orange/light green contrast for colors.
@Chidambhar_Swaroop thanks I am glad you think so
@FreneticPonies I'm glad you like my materials, thanks for following my thread from its early stages. I agree with you that my final composition is different, than the original in color and spatial clutter. While I'm still debating if it is a bad thing or not, I would like to hear what you think of my choice to include more greens and blues than orange hues.
@Sunray Thanks Sunray! Someone on artstation asked about my workflow for them, so I'll be posting a short tutorial about it in the coming days.
@cheapskate01 Totally with you on that, adding some environmental story elements would really engage the audience more. I've had an interesting addition in mind from the beginning of this project that I will try and introduce in a second pass. Thanks for the suggestion!
