Blender-Sapling Tree Addon Parameter Disappears

Trying out the tree addon but it seems to have some issues. If I move the tree to a particular place I want it before finetunning the parameters, the parameter box disappears. I understand that from my searching on the net, that once you select something else or do any other action, u can't get the addon parameter box back.
I don't know why this was even implemented. The posts I found about this are quite dated. Has this been fixed now? I am hoping maybe there is a workaround for getting this currently with hopefully the parameters in the object properties, where you modify vertex groups, materials, uvs asnd others?
