[maya] Blendshape animation wont export properly

I'm trying to export an animated model to fbx format, but the facial animation I made with blendshapes isn't exporting at all. The face is in it's default expression when I reimport the .fbx to maya and the face doesn't move at all. I feel like I've tried every combination of settings there is. I've also tried baking the animation, but that doesn't seem to do anything... I'm guessing baking the animation only bakes my animation to the character's skeleton, but not blendshape animation.

There are other issues as well, like the eye meshes not animating at all and simply staying in place while the rest of the mesh moves, but that feels like a minor problem in relation to the blendshapes right now. I'd really, really appreciate some help. This project has given me hell every step of the way.
