Overview
A small Themed Entertainment Design company with big plans are looking for a talented 2D Creative Designer to join the team.
Quarry Fold Studio are looking for a 2D artist with a passion for their craft to join our growing team in bring Themed Environments to life.
The Role
The highly creative, non-routine role of 2D artist requires a combination of Graphic Design, Illustration and conceptual illustrative skills. The ability to visually communicate design ideas and execute finished artwork is imperative.
In the role, you will be developing multidisciplinary design solutions for several projects simultaneously. You must be able to meet strict deadlines independently, and as part of an established, dynamic design team. These include themed design solutions for: attractions (rollercoasters, dark rides etc.), retail, food, environmental, educational and guest service projects. You will also be collaborating with external consultants in delivering creative assets and supporting project teams.
You will also touch upon marketing materials, creating a range of assets for a variety of uses such as press releases and advertising.
Because we are a smaller, close-knit team, we expect all to share administrative responsibilities and so the role would also include representation for timekeeping management tasks.
What skills and experience should you have?
- A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic design or Illustration is advantageous, but not mandatory.
- A dynamic portfolio of Graphic Design and Illustration work.
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and visual communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritise and manage projects per strict deadlines.
- Must be willing and confident to communicatively suggest ideas and solutions.
- Proficiency in designing on PC.
What else would help?
- An active interest in Theme Parks and their design.
- Appreciation for a broad range of historical and cultural Graphic Design and Illustration.
- Basic Knowledge of 3d programs such as Google Sketchup or 3DS Max (in order for collaboration with 3d productions in-house).
