[Maya] Creating nurbs text in Maya 2017?

How do I do this in 2017? I don't see an option for "text" under the "create" menu, I only see "type", which generates text meshes. I want curved text for rigging menus. Is this still an option?

edit: i can't read! 3 more letters to go and I'll know the whole alpabet!

In the settings for the type, there's a "create curves from type" button that should give you the curves you're expecting.

Go to Create > Type, (select the 3D Type), > Modify > Convert > Type to Curves

Took me a while to figure this out, the new features are highlighted in green so that helps a lot. Trying to be as specific as possible with the locations of the tabs, since 2017 doesn't have many tutorials out yet.
