Problem with exported mannequian to Maya, HumanIK controls has wrong axis X Y

Building a game in school with Unreal and Im in charge of animations.
We are going to use the mannequin for testing and exported him to Maya to create som extra animations.
Referenced him with HumanIK tool and created a control-rig but there is problem with the axis.
If we lower his body, knees will bend to the right and not forward, even if we change Mayas world axis to Z up the problem will still be there.

Any solutions? Can you export the mannequin from Unreal with Y axis up? how?
Can you tell HumanIK to understand Mayas world axis when Z is up?
