ZBrush Hotkey Assignment is buggy

Hi,
I've tried to assign hotkeys for the brushes, but it only works from number 1-4, everything afterwards is always "popup+5" etc.
I've tried to edit the hotkey file manually in deleting the "popup" line and did reload this file in zbrush, put it doesn't work.

Is this a bug?

    No, I don't get this issue. How are you trying to assign them? From the pop-up menu or in the brush menu? Are you trying to hotkey a brush that is no longer loaded (ie not in your startup folder)?

    You should be able to manually add hotkeys like this
    [BRUSH:MOVE,53]

    The number at the end is key ID. After pressing a key its found in Preferences>Utilities> Second Slider

    @nyx702 You were on the right track. Looked into GhosTDoG's problem yesterday and the pop-up menu was the problem. Here is the solution in a nutshell for everyone else:
