Hey everyone,
Here's a little panel for Photoshop I've been working on for some time: Perspective Tools version 2.
It's a complete rewrite of version 1
I mentioned on Polycount several years agoSo, that's what it can do.
I) Grids.
- perspective grids, defined by one point or by two guides
- parallel grids
- hiding/showing desired grids from panel, re-coloring grids, horizon lines
II) Warping.
- warp layers to defined plane (plane is defined by four points with Pen tool)
- warping plane can be corrected by visible perspective layers
- warp layers are smart objects, so you can adjust them further
- warp with bezier curves quadrangle
III) De-perspective
- unwrap defined quadrangle plane to rectangle
- transfer image data between two defined planes (like on gif above)
And some other little things.
Changes from v1:
- much, much faster
- warps and de-perspective functions
- grids are shape layers, and can be easily recreated after canvas/image size, no pixelization on size increase
- supports CC, CC2014, CC2014.2, CC2015, CC2015.5 and beyond
- doesn't support
CS6 CS5 and below
- it's paid (sorry if this upsets anyone)

That is Awesome News! I can't wait to buy one for CS6!!
Thank you so much for making this tool, your first one was already awesome, but this is even more fantastic!
Yeah, sorry about that. It's really complicated to make something like trial version inside PS. I was thinking of making a demo-version: with limitations on document size and flattening the document afterwards, maybe I'll make it after the CS6 version
Can it by any chance do everything in reverse? Like extract a face texture warping it with a click, not manual Ctrl+T to flat pic (the traditional way), or clone from perspective source to flat texture.
@CreativeSheep , I think if you take the two steps of 1.de-perspective then 2. warp, you would achieve that.
Then again I understand a 1 button press for that would be interesting and "more efficient?", idk.
What do you mean exactly by not currency sensitive?
I just bought the Perspective Tools 2 and really like it so far. Although I have one "problem": it is pretty slow. When I set up the two points and create the grid through the plugin, it takes about 10-20 seconds (tried it multiple times). I am working on Photoshop CC 2015.5, with an SSD and more than 10GB of free ram. It should not be a Computer Issue. Hope to hear from you what I can try to make it faster or if there are any fixes or so. Thanks. Great work, just as the first version.
I used it a lot and can't wait for the brush panel.
That's weird, even on my relatively slow computer (2.3ghz 2013 Mac laptop, 8gb ram) grids create themselves in 0.5-1s on huge files with lots of layers plus I never heard of such slowdowns. I'd suggest to try to reinstall PS (I know this may sound like overkill but several people had different weird issues which perished after reinstall).
Also do you think you can make a video screencast of this slowdown and send it to me to kritskiy.sergey@gmail.com? I think it'll be easier to continue via email

I created this whole thing because I thought Vanishing Point was unusable. The only thing I love about it is, since it can use PS API straightaway, it can do some great realtime distortions, like painting in perspective. But it's not really useful because you can only use the default round brush there.
Placing layers in perspective? Slow, painful and destructive (not a smart objects).
Creating grids? Can't do
Unwarping perspective to proper rectangle? Can't do
Of course this is my opinion, if I thought otherwise I'd never created PT, but for me PT is like a geeky (due the interface limitations I have) but more clever way of working with perspective in PS than Vanishing Point.
If you're into this type of work buy this tool ;-)
Once a perspective grid is created one then must create two paths that make up the shape of the image with the help of CTRL to make multiple paths, correct ?
This depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you want to make a grid within an image with established perspective (eg photo or 3d-render) you probably would want to be as precise as you can: use distant and long parallel lines to define VP. If you have a rough sketch and you want to define perspective, you can be pretty rough about it.
In a nutshell you don't need perspective grids to de-perspectify quadrangle, however you can use grids to correct the path for more precision. To de-perspectify you need one path with four points. Additional paths are used for some optional stuff but I'd recommend to start slowly
Edit: Forgot to include that i'm using your Perspective tools 2. Bought it on gumroad this morning to take for a spin.
I think right now it's the easiest way, since Adobe discontinued Extension Manager for CC2015 and there's no official way to install extensions
yesterday I bought the plugin Perspective Tool V2. I'm having trouble installing it. The Extension Manager returns this error:
Could you help me somehow? I tried with the ZXP installer but It keeps trying to install the extension and nothing happens. Thanks
