Answered: Baking normal map for curvature map

Hi. So I'm trying to figure out how to bake a normal map for a good curvature map for a hard surface object, like an AK for example as I read somewhere that ddo bakes a curvature based on the normal map?

So here's where I am at the moment:

These are the models I'm using. Let's call it a simplified receiver of an ak. I'm using knald baker to bake normal map and AO which works fine as you can see in 3DO.

3DO:

And this is what the baked curvature mask looks like using ddo to bake it. This is a default dynamask set to normal from screen I think its on by default?

For the life of me I can't figure out why its not picking up the middle loops. Obviously this would be handy for doing scratches type things. I did download the kriss vector tutorial project files and using those in ddo and baking a curvature is fine so I don't actually know what I'm doing wrong?
