In Zbrush, if you have experienced the infamous UI missing problem, here is, based on my observation, how to predict its occurrence, and possibly attempt to fix the issue after knowing it has happened.

This glitch often happens after zBrush restarts, or some occasions when working in edit mode.  So before it happens, we can know it will happen.  Here is how to know:

After you customize some of your buttons, save the UI config file.  Usually, after an amount of customized buttons, the file's size should go beyond 16kb.  And when it does go beyond 16kb, it means the glitch is likely not going to happen.  If it stays at minimum size, 15KB or so(IDK the exact bytes), it will likely glitch.  Store config after this will not fix it.  In fact, it's just saving another glitched config.

Note:  I have not encountered issues when the file size is beyond 16KB.  But that still has a probability of happening depending on how many buttons you have.  Say, you have a config file that should be 25KB large, but instead it saved the file with 20KB, then the glitch is likely going to happen because something is wrong with the filesize.

So make sure your UI config file isn't sitting at the minimum size when you save it.  As long as the size is bigger than the minimum, it should work.

Store the working config, save it into a file, whatever.  So next time the glitch actually happen, just hit restore and everything should be back where they were at.
