Lumberyard Game engine, anyone using it?

I searched on the forums here and it seems there is little to no interest in the engine. I actually downloaded it and I am trying it out. They seem to be taking feedback seriously.
Some of my issues with it is the material editor(no nodes) and how you need to set up textures( uses only .dds files and includes certain suffixes for texture types for it to work properly) which is very different from the way we work in cg. On the other hand, it has realtime GI which makes lighting set up way easier, a time of day and sun trajectory editor which are really cool tools. They just improved their fbx importer among other things for their 1.2 beta release last week or so.

So I wanted to ask if there is anyone using it or trying it out here?

For those of u who are trying it out, what are your impressions about it so far?
