Disney Infinity 3.0 - Marvel Battlegrounds concept art dump

Hey guys, Marvel Battlegrounds for Disney Infinity 3.0 finally came out on March 15th. It's a playset that plays and draws inspiration from games like Power Stone and Smash Bros. I was the lead concept artist for it, and I'm super excited to be able to share all my work on it.  It was a very fun project for me as I'm both a Disney Infinity fan, Marvel/MCU fan, and a fan of the Toys To Life games genre.  I tried to look at what Disney Infinity's art style was like, and tried to pull in different inspirations that made me excited as a fan, and what made the most sense for the game that the team at United Front Games was trying to make in partnership with Avalanche Software, Marvel and Disney.

I'll start with some general concepts, and move on through the different battle arenas in the game.  Hope you enjoy what you see!

Awesome stuff man.  I have a friend who works at Avalanche studio and seeing the games you guys turn out in the timeline you guys have is extremely impressive.  For the line art of the piece with the cranes whats the timeline it takes for you to finish something like that?

Hey thanks man!  I can't remember how long it took me specifically with that as I had to revisit/iterate on that image due to the tight scheduling.  I look at it now though, and maybe a day or two?  Maybe a bit longer.

Thanks man.  Yeah, was just wondering about how competitive it is at Avalanche.  I applied but never heard anything back so I just assumed they found someone better. Good work though man, checking through some of your blog stuff as well and I'm going to have to follow it from now on.

Not sure about how competitive it is at Avalanche.  I don't work there.  I work at United Front Games.  We worked with Avalanche/Disney/Marvel to make Marvel Battlegrounds.  Good luck with whatever you're doing and thanks!

I love these so much. It almost makes me cry. I worked on 2.0 and there is so much nostalgia in these illustrations. Beautiful.
