Radial symmetry in maya

So I am trying to switch from max to maya and cant find a tool that works like radial symmetry from max. I tried searching in google but couldnt find anything usefull please help .

i tried that but that doesnt work well when u smooth ur mesh

Why not? You need to combine the meshes when you're finished and then weld all vertices with a low threshold.

Hi, you can get normal symmetry selection by in the viewport, press crtl+shift, rightclick and hold your mouse over "symmetry".

which maya version you use it?

its nice but u cant preview your object with subdivisions properly while editing

Thank you aasmund but i was looking for something like radial symmetry from zbrush

s I tried script in maya 2015 no luck  would have solved the radial symmetry problem for me.
nice trick mogul did u put cylijnder as a refrence to the 1st object?
I think for most of the problems i will have to use duplicate special and then weld

i dont know in maya 2015 will have this. its copy reference in bonus tools. 
what i do is extract some piece of cylinder. then i copy as reference. symmetry cut Y axis and rotate 45 degree. And the last is mirror with ctrl+shift axis X and X.

i think in max kinda like that in stack modifier. i got the trick from here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_nB1a3U_j0.
i believe if i delete the piece of cylnder that im edit and start editing in new cylinder with mirror its still works. Actually there is no real radial symmetry in maya. if u use instance and weld its doesnt work i guess. and if you dont weld it you got some problem with smooth preview.
