Fallout 4 - Minigun

Hey guys! Been working on this bad boy

Highpoly: 



Lopoly + Wires:



Lowpoly + Normals (test):





Lowpoly + Normals + Edgewear (test)



Still have to clean up a lot of things, get all the bolts and rivets in place plus touch up some parts like the Drum area. 

Then to Texture!!!!

Any feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

From what I've been observing this in Fallout 4's loading screens, they used purely alpha textured "ammo chain", which is just a "cylinder". Saving a lot of polygons.

Thank you, im actually well under my poly limit so not too worried about that, this is going for the more "quality" count . and yeah had some issues finding references for this, not many people have been taking screenshots of the weapon from all angles.

Looking really nice! Quick question, how do you do the low poly? Do you just create it from scratch following your high poly or?

Honestly it depends. For most of this I just cleaned up the highpoly model with the exception of some pieces i did a manual retop but 90% was already made. Saves time, specially if you work using clean topology. 

Ill post a shot of the UVs soon (after i make sure they are done 100%)

started working on the textures a bit, going to go back and clean up the base texture and build up again.

but not bad test!

ps: you will see some flat normal stuff on here (dont worry, its not done)

Very nice work.
Looking forward to the finished texture.

One thing: It seems you have some streching in the normal bake for the bolts on the side of the ammo drum (where the drum is connecte to the main body)

few updates. playing around with making this a little different than FO4, less grundy... more old dusty industrial type feel.

Kills? those are friendship hug marks... this is a friendship gun...
