[Alt Helmet] – Excalibur – Grail

Hello all. Thought I'd try to jump in and do an alt helmet of Excalibur. I started looking up some ref's and also read up a little on King Artur, I have decided to make a helmet referencing to the "Grail" or "Holy Grail. I usually just go all in and start sketching in zbrush but I thought Id take my time a bit and make a few 2d paint overs first.Here is a very quick and dirty sketch of what im thinking. Hopefully ill have time to complete

Here is an Update to the "Grail" Excalibur Helmet. A lot different from my sketch I know

. I think I will continue to just mess with things in zbrush for time sake. Doesn't really say "Grail" to me yet, ill keep tweaking until it does. Any crits are welcome.

Quick update

, Wanted to change the upper ridge over the "eye". What do you guy prefer, A or B?

'A' is getting much better lines/shapes from the front, though a lot of your shapes are very similar in size. It might be worth playing around with the shape of 'B' to establish another large shape in your composition. Maybe something more convex in shape instead of concave.

Quick paint over on a possible fix. Decided to go with the B shape. Ill keep tweaking the major shapes before I start going into anything else.

Here is a small update. Was away from my PC for a bit so I wasnt able to make to much progress, But I was able to kinda fix some of my forms a bit. Still a lot to do. Getting closer to what I want, hopefully ill feel alright about it soon so I can polish and solidify things.

Let me know what you guys think. Are the shapes working out so far?

hmm I like the eyes, but they might do better a bit further down the face portion if that makes sense kind of like jewels surrounding the grail...

thanks for the suggestion EMILSTEKCOR, I actually started adding little lights around the helm. The hard part for me at the moment is to add things that make it fell "Grail" like without over complicating anything. I might need to remake the helm maybe. I still feel like I need to to tone things down a bit....ill have an update later.
