Hi guys, I started making this spear today and this is kind of what I have got going so far, I don't really have everything figured out yet, so what you can see design wise is what I have. I'm open to suggestions but what I'm thinking of doing is pretty much wrapping the handle in some cloth or leather and adding something in the back to make it look more balanced, don't know what that would be though. Let me know what you think!

Okay, some updates made from earlier today, here is the current state. Nothing is final so suggestions are welcome.

Really cool design.

You may want to think about how the skeleton would stay stationary. Seems like it would slide all over the place with any movement. It doesn't really make sense for the skeleton to be over the wrappings either. I don't know if I would have the wrappings go up that far anyway.

You may also want to do more with the skeleton. The skeleton is a great way to break up the silhouette.

Tanks for the suggestions, I'll try to fix those things! I did a fast edit about your remark about doing something more with the bones and made this, I'm not sure I like it but I wanted to try it out, I were originally thinking of making something similar with ribs but I'm unsure. As far as attaching the skull more firmly, I have no clue how to make that look good, I were tossing it around in my head for a bit but can't figure out anything interesting, I'll see if I can come up with something after a good nights sleep. :P

Okay, I did the rib thing today and came up with two versions, I think I'm gonna stick with the upper version but feel free to tell me if you guys feel different!

I'm digging those image based lighting renders. The small details on the skull and the shaft of the weapon really pop for its triangle count.
