Hello, so what problem with bevel in maya 2016? Any chance to fix it somehow?
The problem in "Autofit" attribute.

It will only smooth one angle.
Bevel the smaller shape and extrude it.

The problem isn't in geometry modeling. Its a bug with Auto fit attribute (when it off it works fine but result is different). I am trying to find solution how to fix it.

Ah I get it I didn't understand what you ment.
You could turn off autofit and use the offset insead of fractions to set the width, that works fine.
