Hi my name is ThatOtherGuy and I am having some difficulty in trying to push my female face anatomy. This shot is my first attempt and I know it is far from being professional and such and I come to these forums in asking for help improving it.
I understand the basics of painting poly paint skin textures and creating wrinkles, pores and other skin details, however I feel like they lack compared to better examples and such. I also feel like my form of the face is somewhat lacking and feels like its missing elements that could make it stronger.
Now I know some of you are going to preach look at reference and anatomy lesson as soon as you finish reading this and to be brutally honest I have done as much research and studying at it, both photo and other professional work. I understand that fundamental principle in sculpting and drawing. Its just that no matter how much I study and such I still feel like I am missing components that can make this feel much better than what it is.
Therefore I come to you in asking what I should be on the lookout for and other things that can help. Any helpful (and civil) suggestions or resources would be fantastic and very much appreciated.
Also on a side note I am planning to start over on a new fresh base mesh instead of working on this one. Hopefully the second time around it would be better.
Thanks for your input if you have any!
Also I apologize that I won't be able to monitor this thread diligently like some because I am moving over the next couple of days. Again, thanks for any help!

Google the word maxilla. This is the upper jaw bone. Usually it pop outward compare to the cheek
Better? Worse? Should I light myself on fire and jump off a bridge?
The main crits i have is the top and back of the head is huge.
I'd also soften the corners of the lips, and try and focus on the neck anatomy.
Thanks for the feed back! Won't be able to apply it now but I'll keep tab on that for future projects.
