3dsmax - Problem lofting splines

Hey all, I know the loft tool in max is notoriously tricky but I've been stuck trying to fix these splines for a couple of days now and could really use some help. I am trying to loft the profile of a skirting board and ceiling trim for a room however when I select the profile to be lofted along the path, they do not conform to the path at all. I have tried resetting the transforms on the splines as well as creating new splines, attaching the old one so that they have "fresh" spline information, however nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?

Yep, Toggling these options changes the position of the skin however it still isn't giving the expected result

Just an update this problem was fixed, both the path and the profile splines must be created in the same view (top) and reset xform must be collapsed on them to make sure it functions correctly.

For this sort of thing i would use either the 'Bevel Profile' or Sweep modifiers.
