CreatureSculpt - Cosmic Demon

Hey there guys, looking for any and all feedback on this sculpt. the theme for class was cosmic demons, I chose the oldest planet we know, nicknamed "Methuselah". Idea comes from a cross between a decrepit grandfather time, the grim reaper, and something "outer worldly". [Still working on it, which is obvious approx 8hrs][IMG][/img]

The concept is pretty cool. For the sculpt it looks like you're following human anatomy. I'd take a bit more time to go back down in subdivision levels and make it solid. I wouldn't worry about wrinkles or pores at all.

I like the basic concept and silhouette, but I can't tell yet what kind of material the creature is made from - the faceting and harsher edges suggest some sort of stone or mineral, but the less broken structure of the upper body and the joints suggests something organic, yet stylized. Basically, it's the difference between this:


and this:


That said, I dig the headdress!

Thank You, I guess the overall idea is definitely to mimic some type of "space rock", but I cheated with the joints in the elbows and armpits for animating purposes. The whole "Cosmic" part seemed kinda lose to me.
i.e. why that headdress looks so wild! still need work with hard-surface techniques in Zbrush. But thanks again

Headdress needs some fine tuning. and not sure how i want to attach this joohn to him. was just going to have it hover, but now im thinking about moving the neck up like it's grabbing it??...

Cool idea but the chest and wide set arms are bugging me, take a look at the Anatomy For Sculptors torso section LINK

God, I love that helmet. The space-rock look for the body is reading better, too, but I do agree with Meisse about the upper body, especially in the front - the chiseled look of the shoulders in back looks much more natural. I bet it'll look great with textures, though!

much appreciated guys. its been a solid 20 hours of my life so its nice to hear its turning out. ill make some adjustments to the upper torso and still want a more hard surface look to the head but..TEXTURES 4 SURE! must own substance painter
