Failing a unit in college but still getting requirements for university

I didn't really know where to ask this this, but have any of you ever failed a unit in a course but still got the required grades / ucas points for university

this applies to UCAS system only.

The reason I am asking because I am certain I am going to fail the programming unit on my current level 3 national diploma in media production (games development) course at college and was wondering if this is going to kill my chances of university.

if anyone has any advice or anything to help, I am willing to take it.

I haven't ever heard of UCAS but my thoughts are you could stop by Student Services at your College and they could probably answer your questions. Or email Student Services or Admissions to the University's you're intending on applying to.
