Hi everybody ! It's my first thread here, it's been a while since i wanted to sign up on polycount, now it's done.
So i'm currently working on a low poly Artorias, from Dark Souls. Already finished the modelisation, and i've started the handpainted textures.
I'm working with 3ds Max and Photoshop.
Here are couple of screens from my current advancement !

i would just move up the front of the helm (it should look more like an eagle's head) and scale up the sword of 1/3.
texturing is awesome! i had a lot of fun modeling him for the vg remix

Megacorpse > I didn't really think about that but my meaning was to do the same character as the boss fight. So if i remember well he had just his sword in this fight ?
Marshal Banana > A shame ? Ho it's hard to hear that haha ! By the way my intent wasn't to do exactly the same as the original but to reinterprate it a little bit, so i though it can be cool that way !

So this is how i do metal textures on photoshop. By the way i use only photoshop for my texturing and i'm just switching from photoshop to 3ds mx to see how it work in 3D.
Step 1 : I put the base layer, a medium classic grey.
Step 2 : Just doing a large shade with a darker grey to feel a little bit the volume.
Step 3: I add some details and draw the ornaments with the same dark grey
Step 4: Add the shadows and add a large bright grey to make it pop a little bit
Step 5: Add some scratches
Step 6: Here is my favorite step, use a brighter grey, alsmot white to do the highlights.
Step 7: draw some rust to add some colors in the darker corners of the textures.
Step 8: Just doing some color modifications and some saturation tweaking to get blue on the darkest greys and yellow on the brightest ones.
So here it is !
Megacorpse > Ok i didn't know all of that, cool , thanks a lot for the precisions, it will probably help me So i guess i will do a corrupted artorias with a almost clean armor. Maybe i'll try to get him a little bit dirtier later !
However here is the next step of my Artorias with the Shoulder and the Arm ... It take me so much time ... Don't Know when i will finish it.

i guess the only drawback is that it's diffuse only...

Aga22> Actually it's not really diffuse only. There are a spec map and a hand painted bump map to get some more Highlights on the metal .
Texturing is great, love the hue shifts you have in there.
