Cleaning up 3D scan data of a room

Hey everyone,

I've been messing around with 3D scanners lately, specifically a Matterport. Results vary, but are improving as my technique gets better. My main concern is the poly count, however. I'd like to be able to get these scenes down to a reasonable size for use on the web.

I just wondering if anyone has any good tips or tricks for me to quickly get rid of the hundreds of useless verts on, for example, the floor. Decimating the scene in Meshlab certainly helps, but the decimation is uniform and it also tends to pull the texture in weird ways.

And that's the tricky part... I don't exactly have access to a clean UV sheet (see the last three images). I'm not sure how I can give the scene a new topology while keeping the mapping in place. Any ideas? Is there any hope in polishing this turd? Lol...
