Started a new grenade model. I picked this because I wanted to create a weapon with a nice clean bake and possibly experiment painting some nice wear into it.
Here is the original Concept by Karanak http://karanak.deviantart.com/art/Grenades-397679348
I picked the cluster Grenade at the bottom.

And here is my progress so far. The basic blocking/baking I feel is done, and I threw up some basic diffuse for now. gLF6LXC.jpg

    Some simple notes:
    - Dont lose that nice 45* bevel on the handle that runs down its length( this will be schmexy to grab a nice highlight in your normal)

    - If this is (baked) already I would soften the small metal feet so they aren't razor sharp. The concept has it that sharp but its not going to do anything at all for your model in the end of the day so I would edit it for best results.

    - The small incut triangles add a nice element where there is alot of empty space so I would try and get those into your model (not sure if you just havent got to it yet)

    - The pin is actually more squared then it is rounded in design. It helps tie the angled hard edge look.

Besides those few things looks like your off to a good start! Keep up the good work!

Right now the metal feet just haven't been baked along with the triangle incut designs, which I will probably Nd0 in. All good points though man, never noticed the pin is kinda squarish around the edge so I'm gonna fix that up.

Finally finished this up a while back, and rendered it out in Toolbag 2. Figured I should post it up.
