lighting issue

i'm having an issue in udk where i have a simple plane i brought out of maya with textures on it but when lit in the side where the normals arent facing and textures arent visible, it'll tend to light both sides. so i went into the material editor to make sure i had it set to a two sided material but it made no difference. I even tried copying the wall, and flipping it so that the light would hit the copy wall first but it still went pass both and hit the floor. This is shown through the image presented below:
