[MAYA] Lattice point selection trouble

Heya,

So I was trying to figure this out by googling a lot of stuff but no luck

This USED to work great before for me, but all of a sudden it started behaving like this, so must be some setting I've accidentally turned on I think.

So I go into Lattice Point component mode, I want to do a drag selection over the lattice points I want to select. But it selects the geometry instead and deselects the whole lattice object....
It doesn't even matter if the lattice point is outside of the geometry of the object, if there's ANY geometry (even from other objects outside my lattice object) it'll prioritize selecting that over my lattice points....




Any help on this would be much appreciated!

that is unusual behavior indeed. try toggling "deformers" from the viewport->show menu.
you can also try to more drastic measure of deleting Maya.env file

odd behavior it should only do that if there was no lattice point in the selection, you could always turn off selection of poly surfaces from the toolbar.

In your settings preferences, ignore selection priority isnt on by any chance is it?

Yes! that was it! Wow, thanks a lot (and thanks to the others for answering too).
Maybe there's some hotkey to toggle that that I accidentally did. Anyway, thank you! Saved me a lot of frustration!

Glad to see that solved the issue Philip. Its one of the sneaky options haha :P
