I'm having some serious issues getting the anatomy of the connection point down. He needs to be able to stand on his hind legs as a bi-pedal creature as well as being a quadruped. Any suggestions??
I think you're gonna have to give up on something. Either the notion of him being able to stand up on his hind legs, or having proportions similar to a traditional centaur. To balance him for standing on his hind legs, the torso should be moved down and forward. The pelvic bones should be around the position of the clavicles instead of the scapula.
I gotta say, I'm liking how it looks now, though. Maybe he could stand on the front legs and bring the hind legs up around.
It's going to look bad as a bipedal creature, no matter which way you try and do it. I mean, the defining anatomy of a gorilla (for me, anyways) is the large upper body and arms and smaller backside (like a reverse bear).
Does it absolutely have to be bipedal? I could imagine a gorilla centaur running through a jungle on all fours, but not on two legs. It would look so awkward to have 4 large arms hanging up above of relatively small legs.
Wow... Saw the title, and expected a gorilla torso on some bizarre body, like a frog or something. This is awesome, however, like how a Thark really should be!
This is really cool! he looks like he could be really agile. His head is a bit too demon like for my tastes. I don't have any useful suggestions for any alternative though, i guess i was expecting something a bit more block headed, i dunno, maybe it's just the horns.
It looks like it needs more body between the front and back legs. If you look at gorilla's, even though they are stubby, there is still more room between those areas. There also needs to be more middle body. Needs to be taller in the front section above the front legs
more epic!? Probably, didnt want the textures to stretch too much though, especially for beauty renders. I also got tired of this guy over the project and just wanted it to end lol
i know the feeling, if you ever do revisit i suggest at least posing the arms differently for a better silhouette, i keep picturing them beating his chest or something higher up in the air. Not necessarily all the way up... just my opinion. very well done regardless : )

Its looks great anywho, keep it up!
That surface on the inferior part of the chest and upper abs seems way too flat IMO
