So, this is something I've just noticed. It's being used by a few peeps here on PC and I decided to give it a spin myself. Turns out, the green channel of the PRTp map that xnormal bakes out for you is a really nice Top-Down AO to Multiply over your existing AO, Cavity, and any other sexy edge and shadow inducing maps.

My question is, does anyone know where we can find more documentation on this? I've searched google extensively and have not been able to find anything. The way I discovered it was by following Amir's portfolio environments thread, and he mentions using the green channel as I just explained.

The way I've been using them, is Multiplying them all over my existing AO and Cavity bakes at a low opacity of about 30%, and it gives a really nice, solid feel to the mesh. Has anyone else here tried them?

I'd like to see if anyone has anymore uses for this kind of baked map?

Grazie.
