Hey guys, i'm looking at building a small Workstation computer solely for 3d production and game art in the near future, a little MicroATX thing, and i'm also on the lookout for a new desk, right now i have a hideous glass abomination that i really struggle to fit my Intous 4, Keyboard and Mouse on at the same time.
There seems to be an abundance of information when it comes to Computer Hardware from Monitors to CPU's but i've scoured the internet and couldn't really find a desk from a Store that looked particularly good with enough space. Was just wondering if anyone could suggest a nice ergonomic desk that would support a Dual 27" monitor setup with enough room for a Medium Intous 4 tablet plus the usual peripherals. I'd rather not have to resort to getting the Hammer and Nails out myself!
My budget is around £150-230, thanks for listening

I only got 22in monitors, but they are set up in the corner, 27in should be fine though.
plenty of room
I got this and its great! It's deep enough to fit my monitors, keyboard and intuos 4 medium tablet in front of me and its cheap!
I've got two 22" monitors (soon to be 24" ) and I still have room for souvenirs and some other bits and bobs!
Previous desk was one of those special ones, was really uncomfortable.
The one I have now is basicly just one of those ikea ones like this:
http://www.ikea.com/be/nl/catalog/products/S19903730/
+ http://www.ikea.com/be/nl/catalog/products/S99903689/
(in black)
but I bough the straigh piece and the corner piece seperate,
I don't know if it's the case in the ikea's over there, but here you can choose the
actual wooden things you want, in all sorts of colors and sizes, buy the support/legs you want for it, and you are set.
tons of space, dual monitors, books, peripherals, and still a really large amount of space left to draw.
Best part, it only cost like 100 euro (+- 120-130 dollars or so).
And the money you have left, put that into a decent chair.
that's exactly what i have. i have a dell 23" (u2312hm) and a 22" cintiq on my desk, along with keyboard and mouse.
it's very spacious!
cant work with them
hahaahahahaa
i like my furiture like i like my women. cheap and hard to assemble lol
That's what I have right now. I use the side WITHOUT the keyboard tray as my primary and I use the keyboard tray for a makeshift light-table if I need to draw or animate. I also use it for small storage. (any pyshical reference I may have on me that I don't want exposed directly to an area I may have food or water.)
I use the top area for maquettes, anatomy reference... though that has less use these days.
Also Alec, thats a real nice setup.
I fucking hate keyboard trays with a fiery passion and I will usually spend 5 minutes trying to remove one from any desk that has one. I'm tall and have a hard enough time fitting under most desks without some flimsy tea tray requiring me to slouch down and act like my keyboard belongs on my crotch.
I know this is irrelevant and unhelpful, but I have not yet had an opertunity to bitch about these abominations on polycount before.
seems sturdy enough, some guy climbed all over it to get to the top of our window lol.
Most keyboard trays are junk. Good ones are rigid, don't rattle, and let you get the keyboard anywhere you want it and angle it.
