For my final year project I am intending to model, rig and animate my labrador. Unfortuately I only got the chance to do one Maya module last year so perhaps am not as advanced as I should be by this stage and have come across some difficulties.
I've roughly modelled the dog but now cannot seem to work out how to put the edgeloops in around its face like the modeller has done to this model:

Any tips on how to go about sculpting the edgeloops for the face? My attempts so far ended up fairly messy and un-muscleloop like.

equally look at edge flow on human faces - some muscles are the same for both species and will act in the same way so the edge loops will be similar
They will serve as a guide when you are splitting faces/creating loops.
That reference picture is really useful. And I have now got a spherical eye as a guide-line which I've made live so it's all going a lot better now.
