I've been trying at this shape for quite a while now, and I just can't get anything that satisfies me. I'm not quite sure how to approch this and get a good looking, good edgeflow result. I need a leather-esque 'faceplate' (Similar to this, that conforms to the face more.) that is fixed to a cylinder in the center and…
TL;DR My active core toolset: ZBrush (for organic sculpting, as I'm a character artist) Blender (my main 3D modeling app for HP hard surface (subsurface modeling) and LP optimization, retopology and UVs) Marmoset Toolbag 3 (for baking & rendering) Substance Painter (for texturing [obviously, lol] and sometimes for Iray…
An absolute monster of an off-road rally high performance twincharged all wheel drive masterpiece fabricated by one of Italy's iconic marques, leaving an indelible impression on those who had witnessed it's racing prowess whilst piloted by equally incredible drivers, way back in the day. Was really supposed to be just a…
I would use splines for the hanging ropes. In terms of where the rope attaches to the rings, you could create a separate subtool like a smoothed cube, then subdivide and use something like Dam Standard to sculpt cuts to make it look like the rope is wrapping around the ring. Orrr....you could make one rope 'loop' and fit…
A-N-P: Thanks! And for sure, I'm definitely going to go back to the wall texture and beef up some of the line work. And get a less sketchy look ForbiddenDonut: Thanks, And yes. zbrush for the tape on the sides and (supposedly) cloth wrap on the handle. Materials should read a bit better once texturing is done. About 2/3…
Tried this? [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e04k4Cz8UBo"]ZBrush Tileable Sculpting 01 - Brush Wrap Setup - YouTube[/ame] Works great from max if you start in Z and GOZ a plane from it to 3DS (I did a simpler plane and I divide it only with smoothing off thus not needing any "border" so I can save polys and have…
@PyrZern and @JoopsonThanks! Yeah, the poly count can go much lower. The "tail" and knots are more than the rest of the knife(blade and handle wrap combined), which I need to take down. I was thinking about leaving it and moving on and hoping that it wouldn't bug me, but now it is. I'll fix it in a bit. As far as the edges…
Update time, another cover done, only 2 left to go! I do have the sinking feeling that its going to be difficult to get this all to work on the gun, though it was never the intention to be able to see the full detail of any of the covers - its a comic book cover wrap, just with original comic book concepts. Fingers crossed…
Been learning Maya the last few days. I followed a few tutorial videos, and now I'm trying to put together a model of the dwarf hammer from the illustration I posted at the beginning of the sketchbook. I'm really glad I uploaded this Sketchfab, because I hit in to a lot of broken geometry that I had to figure out how to…
Any of these: - make them separate textures that fully wrap on all four sides (extend all the way to the edges on all four sides) - make them textures that extend to the edges either top-bottom or left-right. If you have four 512x512 textures right now, organised into a 1024x1024, consider making them in a 512x2048 or…
