try going to your documents folder and seeing if there's a Mudbox folder there. If there is, you can delete it or rename it, or go into it and remove/rename any existing folders for the Mudbox version you have. This will make Mudbox create a new set of preferences on bootup.
copying ,scripts,shelfs, hotkeys and marking menus -should- just be a matter of copying over the right folder from your mydocs/maya/8.5/ folder to the machine you're using. Edit - prefs folder holds the hotkeys in a mel file
I have a references folder but its not very full I tend to make a new reference folder for each project instead and Ive got a Artwork/Inspiration folder that I use as my screensaver...sometimes the awesomness hurts my eyes =0!
Ok I've finally figured it out...I didnt have the packages in the UDK folder. The UDK files had to be in the autosaves folder while the UPK had to be in the Content folder. Rendered fine afterwards...thanks for pointing me in the right direction blankslatejoe
Don't put them in Allegorithmic path hierarchy folder, that path is only for program defaults. you should have a list of folders above that, something like "User\Documents\Substance Painter\shelf\" and in there there's a folder called "materials" - that's where you put custom or downloaded materials.

Maybe the folder where you are trying to import from contains accentuated letters. I couldn't import fbx files too because of this. To get around this issue, I made an import folder to inside UDK folder, and I save every fbx files to there now.
Yes, that's basic source control usage. Go inside the folder you want to update, right-click, get latest. It won't get any files in any other folders. If you want to get ev erything updated for the whole project, then you go to the root folder instead.
I've not done any art with it but I did have to build a little plugin last year to handle some naming issues on an older painter version. from what I remember you get a texture set per tile and you can paint across tile boundaries - i forget whether it's possible to assign a different shader to each texture set. on more…
