Hi everyone, here is my latest work. Learnt a lot and i hope to keep learning and pushing the envelope. Modeled in zbrush, rendered in v-ray for 3ds max, ornatrix for 3ds max for the hair, texturing in substance painter. hope you like it. like to here what you guys think. thanks
You could also use a Loft object. It has the bonus of built-in procedural twist/taper features. And the best way of all to do this in Max is with the Ornatrix plugin......although it isn't cheap. :)
Look in the plug-in thread. There's a link to one called ornatrix or something like that. I tried it, it works, give it a shot. There's also Shag Hair for Max. I'm lazy so you have to google it yourself.
@Optimus Hair cards are not faster than physical hair geo at this time. I'd argue for using clumped volumes of flowing hair geo, unless you're down to finesse out an Ornatrix solution, or fibermesh, etc.
Hi everyone, here is my latest 3D artwork "Ape on the run". He was sculpted with Zbrush and retopo was done in Max, the scene is poly modeling in max too. Substance Painter was used for texturing,Ornatrix was used to generate the hairs and Vray for rendering. Compo and postpro in After effects. I hope you like it! Highres…
Thanks for the comments guys. I plan to add way more detail to the sideburns and hair in general, but I have yet to determine the exact method that I'll do this. I'm looking into using Ornatrix to create the hair textures and normals.
This is my Nth try to use Unreal Engine for real time rendering. I am trying a switch and to use UE to get images for my portfolio rather then Marmoset, at least this is my goal :) . Really happy with this result. What do you think? Thank you. Software used: 3dsMAX, zBrush, MDesigner and Unreal Engine. Hair it is done with…
i've got myself into a challenging spot. i need to make some pretty realistic looking dreadlocks...just wondering what the BEST hair plug-in out there is. i've looked at ornatrix and heard of shave/haircut. any advice would be greatly appreciated. MOP?..you're always sooo good w/the advice. i know i owe you a pizza…
Hi everyone, I really like Ed Binkley's art and I tried to do something similar but in 3d. honestly I still consider it at the level of idea. I would like to add more details and maybe I will advance with the rigging part as well. There is plenty of room for improvement.. Feel free to leave a comment or feedback. Thanks…
i would start with the native max hair tools... they are based on shave and are good to start with... and use splines to style the hair and not the comping tools... if you have some money give ornatirx a try... https://www.ephere.com/plugins/autodesk/max/ornatrix/
