say what? 1 tri = 3 verts 2 tris = 4 verts 3 tris = 5 verts mathematically speaking, your vert cound is n+2 where n = tri count. you would then need to add additional verts for hard edges caused by UV seams. -

@Fabi_G thanks for the feedback! The lighting is all baked with lightmass. I've seen that fairly exaggerated bounce lighting is the key to stylized lighting, but in my project I had to tone it down a little because the bounced lighting would be very aggressive in some parts of the map. "polygons" are multiple triangles together.. 2 tris makes a quad etc. Even inside your modeling application you work with triangles all the time. Some softwares are able to display a pair of tris as a quad but they are still tris. You don't need to do anything to get tris, they are already that.… -
